Hi y’all! I hope you are having an great time at home during summer break. But we figured that you’re all missing your family up in Berkeley so we’re going to be doing a better job of updating you guys of everything that’s been going on up here. So here’s what happened this past weekend…just don’t get all jealous of all the fun we had
On Friday, all of Klesis got together at Alameda High to grab some food at the shops on Park St. and then played with some frisbees and footballs on the grass lawn in front of the school. Will Shen was throwing that Nerf Vortex whistling football like the entire length of a football field. Unfortunately, we were all too busy having fun and being gluttonous so we forgot to take pictures! So moving on!
We went to Kevan and Jenny’s place for Bible study and more fun. We reviewed the Romans DT for the week and got to see the gospel message once again. Afterwards, we broke out into smaller groups to learn how to build a fire, make Korean pancakes, or plan for our summer activities.

Sorry Alex, but your warning came too late!

By the looks on their faces, you know the planning session went well
Just to give you a sneak peek of what may come, here’s a few of the awesome things we thought about: lock-in and team games at North Loop, campus-scale capture the flag, and ice-skating/broomballing. For those of you guys who just got back for Session C and are reading this in class, it’s okay to be so excited that you accidentally cheered out loud. We’re Klesis, loud and proud.
Now to the real good stuff. On Saturday, we went to Monterey Bay and it was absolutely GLORIOUS! We’re talking about a place like this:

Didn't I say GLORIOUS??
The weather was perfect for a beach day, the sun was radiant, the ocean was glistening, and the sand…was absolutely painful! But nothing stopped us as we played volleyball, ran along the beach, got wet, and played tackle frisbee.

If you look closely, you can see that Wendy's wearing socks for protect those feet
Just so you know, when I said “we got wet” it wasn’t meant for us to get drenched in the sea. I mean, this is still NorCal where the water is absolutely FRIGID. So we picked the men from the boys and went to go play “chicken” along the shore. When we were down to the last two guys (Dave Wu and Josh Yim), our supposedly kind, thoughtful, and ultra-cool leader Ander decided to CHEAT on behalf of the staff and push Josh into the water. And so the result was an epic war. But as all wars go, it ended in peace and harmony.

Don't be fooled by his smile!! He's a jacker, and I learned it the hard way
After our great time at the beach, we went to the tide pools to for some more fun and of course, group photos. We saw some lazy sea lions that just laid there like sun-baked fish as we enjoyed each others company and did stuff like this:

So we were thinking about playing "Red Light, Green Light" but it was too sick
So yes, we are having a lot of fun up here and we hope you’ll come join us next time as we go out and be adventurous. We miss you guys so hurry on back!

Join us next time

wait wait, what the heck is “tackle frisbee”??
haha we added a twist to the game where the brothers were allowed to tackle one another when one of them was holding onto the frisbee…once we made that rule it was pretty hilarious
tackle frisbee is the BEST GAME EVER
watching dzhu tackle ander to the ground was pretty epic. but somehow yim got away clean….
